The Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini is a private non-profit research centre and cultural institute that operates at national and international level. Its main sector of activities is research in the socio-economic field in particular regarding labour market issues, equal opportunities, evaluation and training. The Foundation has two offices in Rome and in Milan and has 10 permanent staff members and a large network of external researchers and collaborators.

In almost thirty years of activity (since 1971) the Foundation has built up a vast body of scientific and cultural knowledge in the field of labour market studies, gender analysis and industrial relations. This line of inquiry produced several research projects funded by the European Union and the Ministry of Labour such as Gender Analysis and Long Care Assistance, Stock and Trend in the European Professions, Telenterprising and Telework. The Foundation provides assistance to the monitoring of the Italian National Action Plan for the European Employment Observatory and in the ex-ante evaluation of ESF. The Foundation is member of the European Employment Observatory-SYSDEM Network.
